With this perspective, the political/project/operational activities of the two ports are developed by investing resources for the development of port, road and railway infrastructures. At the same time, adequate environmental protection is pursued, aimed at minimising the impact related to traffic and construction sites while making all port activities (commercial, merchant, shipbuilding, pleasure boating, industrial and tourism) eco-compatible. This objective is developed through investments for monitoring of the air and water quality in the Gulf; the production of energy from renewable sources; electric mobility in port; power plants for the ships (cold ironing); reclamation of the sea floor; purification systems for washing water for the shipyards; new space for railway tracks; and a buffer zone between the port and the city.
